First Day in Bhaktapur

Today was our first day in Bhaktapur! We spent the day exploring Durbar Square and the surrounding area, which is just right down the road from where we are staying. It was a relatively slow day, which is what we all needed after a very busy week of work. We saw the smaller and lesser know Bhaktapur version of the Pashupatinath Temple. Tomorrow we will be going to see the bigger one in Kathmandu. We got some good tea, went on a short walking tour with Dr. Van Dyke as our guide, saw the peacock window, went to pottery square, and had delicious dinner together (with the best yogurt in the world!). Though we had a great day being tourists again, Peter’s devotional this morning reminded us that we are to set our minds on things above. We have to keep in mind the reason we are here and the work that we have done while in Nepal. Overall it was a great first day in Bhaktapur!
